About Us
Kenner Patton grew up on the banks of Deer Creek in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. While living and working on his family’s cotton and bean farm, he developed a passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His hours in the fields and in the woods inspired the pen & ink and watercolor paintings of the native wildlife observed while in a treestand or canoeing down the creek. As a teenager, his creativity grew to include woodworking and was nurtured by a favorite Uncle and expert woodworker, E.L. Boteler.

After graduating from Delta State University with a degree in Graphic Design, Kenner moved to Birmingham, AL and began his career with Southern Living magazine. For the next 21 years, he would rise from Graphic Designer to Production Manager to Photography Director  to Executive Editor and finally reach his goal of Managing Editor in 2008.

During his tenure at Southern Living, Kenner contributed illustrations to the magazine and continued to design and produce furniture for family and friends as well as for Southern Living, Progressive Farmer, and Cottage Living magazines. His workshop and woodworking talents were featured on the Turner South network’s Southern Living Step by Step television show series where he was featured on camera as the woodworking expert.

In 2010, Kenner and his wife, Stephanie, a business executive with Southern Progress Corp/Time Inc, decided it was time to move closer to family. They now make their home back on the banks of Deer Creek in Leland, Mississippi, and enjoy giving back to the Mississippi Delta through volunteering and active membership in local economic development efforts.
