Mahogany Cradle with Antique Pine Inlays

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting our website! Like our tagline says, we believe furniture should tell a story – your story. Here’s one of our recent favorites: Meet Bitsy Landreaux (left), standing in front of her Louisiana home, circa 1937. Bitsy was Stephanie’s grandmother – one of those wonderful southern ladies that could pick a bushel of peas from her garden, catch a cooler full of bream, and make it to her standing “beauty shop” appointment all before most of us got out of bed. Unfortunately, she passed away before her great-grandchildren, Norris & Lydia (right) arrived. In honor of Bitsy, Kenner took some remnant pieces of the old pine logs from her childhood home and created this beautiful heirloom mahogany cradle. The pine logs are used as inlays on the legs of the cradle. Norris has outgrown the cradle, so  his little sister, Lydia now enjoys it. I’m sure their great-grandmother Bitsy’s spirit is with them as they rock. (Special thanks to cousins Ronny & PeeWee Carpenter for salvaging the old pine logs!)

Products & Services

Kenner Patton Custom Furnishings produces original heirloom quality furniture that can be passed down through the generations. We believe that your furniture should tell a story —your story. We also believe that your custom furniture will be of such high quality that we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the end product, you don’t have to pay for it. We’ll keep it and start over, or you’re free to walk away without having to pay for it.

Below are some of the ways your custom furniture can be created.

Give Us a Keepsake

Many folks hold on to sentimental items thinking, “One day I’ll do something with this.” That was the case with a couple from central Mississippi. They had removed a few large oak doors from a family home before it was demolished with no idea what to do with the doors. They only knew they wanted to hold on to something from the old home. When the couple met with Kenner, he learned they as well as their children were avid hunters and their grandchildren were showing the same passion for the sport. Kenner suggested taking the doors and using them as the front of a custom gun cabinet. Not only would the doors be showcased in a useful and beautiful piece of furniture, but the gun cabinet would be an heirloom piece treasured by future generations.

New Life for Old Wood

Living in the South, and especially this close to the Mississippi River, there are hundreds of opportunities to find “old” wood and make it new again. One of the most popular requests from our customers is for furniture made from this wood – wood that’s had a previous life, so to speak. Kenner has created conversation-sparking furniture from the salvage of old warehouses, barns, juke joints, shot-gun houses, and even from trees pulled up from the depths of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. (These trees fell off antebellum river barges over a century ago.) Each bundle of old wood is carefully cataloged. When your furniture is completed, you’ll know where the wood spent it’s previous life and can share it’s heritage story with family and friends.

Starting from Scratch

Sometimes the look our customers want in their custom furniture is more polished rather than rustic, and that’s cool – Kenner can do that, too. Styles that are upscale traditional, featuring fresh and on-trend colors as well as innovative options for today’s needs (like wire management) can be heirlooms too. That’s the beauty of a piece of custom furniture: you get to decide exactly what you want, and you are guaranteed to be happy with it.

At Kenner Patton Custom Furnishings, we LOVE to find new and creative uses for sentimental items, old wood as well as new wood. Set up an appointment with us to talk about your needs, and we’ll come up with a unique and custom design idea that tells YOUR story for generations to come.
